In foster in Forest of Dean, Glos
Shakira is such a delightful poppet with the sweetest, most loving nature and the most beautiful amber eyes. She does the best wiggly greeting too, she simply adores all people!
Shakira was found as a stray wandering the city streets in a terribly emaciated condition, with the most severe skin condition we have ever seen. Since then, her skin disease has been cured, yet the damage to her skin and fur was too severe, and she has been left with a sparse coat. Her skin has improved with holistic treatment and the aid of a raw diet, which we would like to see continued in her adoptive home.
Shakira stands only 50cm from floor to top of shoulder yet weighs a stocky 20kg and is housetrained. She is around 7-8 years old and so named due to her excitable, wriggly, adorable nature, and is incredibly sweet and loving. Anyone who could overlook her slightly disheveled appearance would be rewarded with the most delightful, loving companion who simply loves cuddles and being with her family. She is looking for someone to give all her love to. Could that be you?
She walks well both on the lead and off and comes readily when called. She loves to sleep quietly as close to her human as possible, and quickly becomes incredible devoted to her human, making her a perfect companion dog.
Shakira has faced abandonment three times in her life through no fault of her own. Due to these reasons she would need a calm home with a family or person who can provide security and would not have to leave her home alone for hours at a time.
Do you have room in your heart and home for Shakira?
We are looking for that extra special someone who will love Shakira completely and dote upon her just as every dog deserves. Please email contact us for more information or phone 01594 530327.
Please share this on social media to help us find Shakira her very special person, thank you!
** We are just a very small team here in the UK, so we are currently only able to consider adopters from Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Wiltshire, North Somerset and South Wales due to the practicalities of journey times for post-adoption back-up and support. We apologise if this leads to disappointment, however we have found through experience that more local adoptions do not overstretch our limited resources. Thank you for your understanding!
