This stunningly gorgeous young lad is looking for a kind, calm home – just 12 mths old, Lawrie is a very sweet, kind and mellow young boy, who is initially shy with strangers, yet soon warms up to a kind voice and gentle fuss, and then becomes a bit of a goof ball, with a sense of fun and joyful lolloping around; he really is the most lovely boy.
Lawrie loves a bit of a fuss, and will gently paw for more and more. He’s had some sort of bad experience in the past, as he is shy of sudden movements and is cautious about being grabbed, yet his reaction is one of avoidance, nothing more – we believe that in time, with a gentle and calm family, he will blossom and flourish into a bit of a fun loving clown!
Lawrie is excellent with cats, he really seems to enjoy the company of cats and he also takes great comfort from having another dog around, so we are looking for a family with an existing dog that he can take guidance from, preferably living somewhere rural and quiet. Lawrie is a very smart boy and highly trainable as he adores a tasty training treat – with his kind, gentle, loving nature, he will make a lovely companion dog – yet he is being undervalued because of his reserved behaviour towards people he doesn’t know.
Once he gets to know you, Lawrie will be sure to become deeply devoted to his family. With his sensitive, timid nature, Lawrie would not respond well to harsh discipline, he would likely go and hide, so he would do best with someone who is gentle and calm, yet possesses an air of natural authority. With his love of training treats, Lawrie would probably enjoy various training activities including games, and with his strong, lithe physique, he would also be perfect for anyone who likes to go hiking or running.
Currently weighing 25kg, we expect Lawrie to reach an adult weight of around 30kg. Lawrie has been raised on a natural raw diet (e.g. K9Raw.co.uk) for improved health and longevity so we would like to see this diet continued in his new home as he loves it so much! His successful adopter must also have an existing friendly resident dog.
Lawrie is great both on and off lead, although with his nervousness, we have only off lead walked him in quiet surroundings with low risk of being spooked – this boy loves to run and run, there is such joy in his face, he is so lovely. In time, with lots of loving reassurance, he will undoubtedly be able to run off lead generally. See his videos of his joyous running here:

** We are just a very small team here in the UK, so we are currently only able to consider adopters from Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Wiltshire, North Somerset and South Wales due to the practicalities of journey times for post-adoption back-up and support. We apologise if this leads to disappointment, however we have found through experience that more local adoptions do not overstretch our limited resources. Thank you for your understanding!
