Leshnik’s Jaw Surgery Update

Leshnik is now fully embracing and enjoying his new lease of life after his successful jaw surgery, all thanks to you…

Thank you so so much to everyone who donated towards Leshnik’s jaw surgery and made this possible for him. He has recovered very well and has an enthusiastic newfound interest in chewing things! 🙂

This week, Leshi had his follow up appointment with Dr Denny, who was very pleased with the range of movement he now has in his jaw, so much so, he doesn’t feel the second surgery on the other side of the jaw is necessary, which comes with new risks to the nerves – it may be necessary to do it in the long-term future, as there is damage and arthritis in the other side, which will need to be monitored regularly.

This has been an incredible journey for all of us here, as although we are well versed with serious orthopaedic injury, the race against time with his jaw potentially seizing up forever if we couldn’t find an appropriate orthopaedic solution, was nerve wracking – if it had seized it would have been too late for surgery and he simply would never have been able to eat again.

Yet now, he has been given the all-clear, and we are thrilled that we have some even better news!…  his foster family have completely fallen head over heels in love with our sweet boy and want to adopt him!   We couldn’t be happier for him right now, Leshnik’s fairytale ending has come through for him, he has everything – a new jaw, a new home, and a loving forever family….  it really doesn’t get any better than this!
